Incoming.....Parachute testing.

As part of year 5's science topic of forces we have been studying air resistance.

We worked in groups to create 4 parachutes of different sizes.

Parachute A was 15cm by 15cm

Parachute B was 30cm by 30cm

Parachute C was 45cm by 45cm

Parachute D was 60cm by 60cm

Then we dropped them from a height to test how long it takes to fall to the ground.  Can you see which one was the quickest? Can you tell which one was the slowest?

This week our focus has been on researching, designing and building model bridges to fit our design brief.
